Pablo Palazzi
Pablo A. Palazzi is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of New York and in Argentina. He is also an industrial property agent and a computer programmer.
He currently practices commercial law as an of counsel in the law firm CABANELLAS, ETCHEBARNE, KELLY & DELL’ORO MAINI (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and he teaches E-commerce and Intellectual Property Law at the School of Law of Universidad Austral where he is a member of the Center for Intellectual Property.
He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Fordham Law School in New York where he earned a Master of Law degree in International Business and Trade Law. He specializes in data protection and privacy, computer law and intellectual and industrial property law, advising national and international companies.
He has written five books, many chapters in international publications and more than 80 articles exploring technology law subjects.
During the years 2004 and 2005, he was, together with Ariel Vercelli, project leader for Creative Commons Argentina.
He co-authored the Data Protection Bill of the City of Buenos Aires (currently law 1845), and its Regulations, the draft Arbitration Rules for domain names in the ccTLD for Argentina and he has been actively involved in several computer crimes bills. He has collaborated representing the Ministry of Economy in the drafting of the digital signature bill and the data protection act of Argentina and its regulations.
He is founder of Foro de Habeas Data, an organization of the civil society whose purpose is to promote data protection & privacy norms in Latin America, hosting an online community of more than 250 professionals in the region and a networks of blogs in Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Colombia.
